Margaret Wilson ScholarshipAWLA has awarded the Margaret Wilson Scholarship since November 2000. Margaret Wilson holds the position of Attorney General, and the scholarship was founded and her name given to commemorate her appointment. The scholarship is for the value of $2,500 and is awarded for academic excellence to a female law student studying for a LLB or LLB(Hons) degree at the University of Auckland. The purpose of the scholarship is to support undergraduate studies in law that encompass the wider objectives of AWLA. AWLA Writing Prize 2008Purpose: To foster and reward undergraduate research and writing on how the law affects women and the place of women in law. Eligibility: All undergraduate female law students at the University of Auckland Value: $500 Conditions: One 7,000–10,000 word essay on the relationship between women and the law. The essay must comply with the Law School Style Guide. All applicants must include a covering letter and 250 word abstract along with their essay. The deadline for applications is scedhuled for September 2007, more details will be announced closer to the date.
